What it is

This is an EPDM O-ring supplied by Navien for use in its NCB-CE range of gas boilers and NPE-AWE / NPE-SWE water heaters. It seals a joint within the appliance's water circuit, preventing weeping or loss of pressure at the connection point. The ring is manufactured to a 17.8 x 2.4 mm section in 70 Shore EPDM and carries an NSF listing.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or a visible drip at the joint the ring seals
  • The ring is flattened, hardened or has taken a permanent set
  • Cracking, splitting or surface perishing of the rubber
  • Scale or corrosion debris packed around the seal seat
  • A leak that returns shortly after the joint has been re-tightened

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the fit list above
  • Check the O-ring groove and mating face for damage or pitting before fitting
  • Confirm the ring section suits the joint being sealed
  • Check how many seals the joint requires before ordering
