What it is
The Potterton 20/18732 is a 12mm internal diameter O-ring that seals the heat exchanger joint on Potterton gas boilers. It sits in the seal groove at the heat exchanger connection and stops water escaping from the primary circuit. The part replaces the earlier code 452510.

- The ring feels hard, brittle or flattened instead of pliable
- Visible cracks, splits or deformation on the O-ring
- Scale or black oxide deposits sitting in the seal groove
- System pressure dropping with no other obvious leak
