What it is
The boiler base plate is a manufacturer-supplied component from Alpha, identified by part number 2.013464. It forms the lower section of the appliance casing on the He range, closing off the underside of the boiler and supporting the flue and condensate arrangements at the base of the unit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water pooling beneath the boiler or damp staining on the wall below the appliance
- Visible corrosion, pitting or scale build-up across the base plate surface
- Distortion or cracking of the plate where it seats against the casing
- Condensate escaping from the base of the unit rather than draining away correctly
- Difficulty refitting the casing panels because the base plate no longer sits square
