What it is

The Vaillant 194829 impeller, complete with aqua sensor, is a hydraulic sensing component used in the domestic hot water circuit of Vaillant gas boilers. The impeller rotates with water flow through the DHW section, and the aqua sensor registers that movement so the boiler can recognise a hot water draw-off. It is listed under switches within the gas boiler spares range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler does not fire when a hot water tap is opened, despite the tap running freely.
  • Hot water demand is recognised intermittently, giving inconsistent or delayed DHW operation.
  • The impeller is stiff, seized or visibly damaged when the housing is inspected.
  • Scale, sludge or debris has built up around the impeller, preventing free rotation.
  • DHW faults persist after the flow rate and inlet filters have been checked.
