What it is

The Vaillant 190215 is a combustion fan assembly used in the Turbomax Pro, Turbomax Plus and Thermocompact ranges of gas boilers. It draws air through the burner and pushes flue products out of the appliance, so it sits at the heart of the combustion and flue path. The fan is driven by the boiler's control board and its speed is monitored, which is why a failing unit usually shows up as a lockout or an error code rather than a silent fault.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler locks out shortly after ignition, or fails to reach and hold a flame.
  • Grinding, whining or rumbling noise from the fan area when the appliance starts up.
  • The fan runs intermittently, runs at a fixed speed, or does not spin at all on a demand for heat.
  • Repeated fan-related fault codes on the boiler display, cleared but returning.
  • Visible damage, play in the impeller, or soot and debris build-up around the fan housing.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the same boiler family can use more than one fan variant.
  • Check the existing fan's part number and any alternative numbers stamped on the housing before ordering.
  • Inspect the fan gasket and sealing washers on removal; replace them if they are compressed, split or contaminated.
