What it is
The Vaillant 181057 is a 10 litre expansion vessel for Vaillant gas boilers. It is fitted to the heating circuit to absorb the expansion of water as it heats, helping to keep system pressure stable. This vessel is used across the Thermocompact and Turbomax ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler pressure rises sharply when the heating is on and falls when it cools.
- Frequent topping up of system pressure, or the boiler locking out on low pressure.
- Water discharging from the pressure relief valve during heating.
- Visible corrosion or water at the vessel connection or Schrader valve.
- Pressure gauge reads high when the system is cold.
