What it is
The Vaillant 180985 is a siphonic condensate trap used in Vaillant ecoTEC Plus gas boilers. It collects and discharges condensate produced during combustion, using a siphon action to prevent flue gases escaping through the condensate drain. It is a serviceable component within the boiler's condensate management system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water leaking from the trap or surrounding condensate pipework
- Boiler locking out or displaying a condensate-related fault code
- Gurgling or bubbling noises from the condensate route
- Visible cracks, blockages or debris in the trap body
- Water pooling beneath the boiler
Before you order
- Check your boiler's model and GC number against the fitment list above.
- Confirm the existing trap is marked with part number 180985.
- Isolate the boiler and allow it to cool before removing the trap.
- Have a suitable container ready to catch residual condensate.

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
