What it is
The Ideal 180781 is the control box front for the Instinct 2 range of gas boilers. It forms the outer face of the control box assembly, covering and protecting the control components housed behind it while allowing access to the boiler controls. It is supplied by Ideal as a direct replacement for the original front panel on these appliances.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracks, splits or impact damage to the front panel of the control box
- The panel no longer sits flush or clips securely into position on the control box
- Discolouration, warping or heat marking on the casing face
- Broken or missing retaining points that leave the controls exposed
- Damage found during a service or repair that prevents the control box being reassembled correctly
Before you order
- Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the numbers listed above to confirm the correct variant
- Confirm the exact Instinct 2 model, as the 24, 30 and 35 versions are listed separately
- Note that the alternative number 8904476 may appear on older documentation or listings for the same item
- This is not a gas-carrying part, so replacement does not involve breaking into the gas path
