What it is
The Ideal 179163 is a front panel and door kit for combi boilers, listed by the manufacturer as a casing assembly and a door assembly. It forms the outer front casing of the appliance, closing off the combustion and component area while giving the boiler its finished appearance. It is used across the Ideal Vogue Gen2 combi range and on Ideal Commercial appliances.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The front panel is cracked, dented or deformed, so it no longer sits flush against the casing
- The door will not latch or stay closed, or the retaining clips and hinges are broken
- Impact damage or corrosion has left sharp edges or exposed internal components
- The panel has been removed for access and the fixings or mounting points are stripped
- Discolouration or heat marking on the panel that cannot be cleaned back
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the panel is specific to the Vogue Gen2 casing
- Check the existing panel for the alternative number 1775908 where the original marking is still legible
- Inspect the hinges, clips and any seals around the panel, as these are often damaged at the same time as the door
