What it is
The Ideal 179159 Control Box Lid Kit is a replacement cover for the control box on Ideal gas boilers. It is produced by Ideal as part of the Ideal Spares range and sits over the control box internals, shielding the PCB, wiring connections and controls from dust, moisture and accidental contact. The kit is used across the Vogue Gen2 family and Ideal Commercial appliances.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The lid is cracked, warped or missing from the control box
- Retaining clips are broken or absent, so the lid will not stay seated
- Dust, moisture or debris is reaching the control box PCB
- Wiring or terminals are left exposed where the cover should shield them
- The lid fouls the control knobs or display after a repair
