What it is
The Ideal 179117 is a hardware kit issued by Ideal as a spare for its domestic gas boilers. It contains the fixing hardware used to secure casing panels and internal components on the appliance. Ideal lists the kit against the Atlantic Combi and Classic 2 families, along with a number of other Ideal models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Casing panels or covers no longer sit tight because screws or fixings are missing.
- Fixings are corroded, seized or rounded off after previous service work.
- A panel rattles or vibrates because it cannot be secured properly.
- Components held by the kit have worked loose over time.
- Original hardware was lost or discarded during an earlier repair.
Before you order
- Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the compatibility list before ordering.
- Confirm the model, as the same part number is listed against several Ideal ranges.
- If you are ordering against an older reference, 8904444 identifies the same hardware pack.
- Inspect seals and gaskets in the area being worked on while the appliance is open, and renew any that are perished.
