What it is
The Ideal 179070 hydroblock gasket kit contains the seals used to reseal the hydroblock assembly on Ideal Logic+ System and Logic System boilers. The hydroblock sits at the heart of the boiler's water circuit, carrying the main heat exchanger connections and the hydraulic components, so its joints are under constant pressure and temperature cycling. These gaskets form the watertight seal between the hydroblock body and the parts bolted to it.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or a visible drip from around the hydroblock body or its connection points
- Crusty white limescale staining or rust-coloured marks at the hydroblock joints
- Falling system pressure that needs topping up more often than usual
- Seals that have hardened, flattened or split when the hydroblock is disturbed during a repair
- Damp patches or corrosion on components sitting below the hydroblock
