- Domestic hot water runs cold or only lukewarm while the central heating continues to work normally
- Hot water temperature fluctuates or cycles between hot and cold during a draw-off
- Radiators begin to heat when only hot water is being drawn
- Water weeping or dripping from the flow group body or its connections
- The diverter fails to move cleanly between the heating and hot water positions
