What it is

The pump head kit is the hydraulic and motor section of the circulating pump used on Ideal Vogue Gen 2 condensing boilers. It contains the pump head assembly that drives primary water around the boiler and the heating circuit, so heat can be transferred from the heat exchanger to the radiators and hot water cylinder. The kit is supplied by Ideal for the Vogue Gen 2 range and is the direct replacement for the pump head originally fitted to these appliances.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • No heating or hot water, with the boiler firing briefly and then shutting down
  • Pump fault code or lockout shown on the boiler display
  • Grinding, whining or rumbling noise from the pump area when the boiler runs
  • Pump body running hot, or the overheat thermostat tripping during a demand
  • Seized or stiff impeller that will not turn when the pump head is removed

Before you order

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the compatibility list to confirm the boiler is a Vogue Gen 2 model
  • Confirm the part number on the existing pump head or the boiler documentation matches 179063 or 59200814
  • Inspect the pump gasket and O-ring seals while the head is off and replace them if they are compressed or perished
  • Isolate the electrical supply and drain or isolate the boiler before removing the pump head
