What it is
This is an SELV (separated extra-low voltage) wiring harness manufactured by Ideal for use in its commercial heating appliances. It forms part of the low-voltage control circuit, carrying signals between the control board and the sensors and switches it monitors. The harness is supplied as a complete loom, ready to be routed and connected in place of the original.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Insulation that is cracked, chafed or heat-damaged along the loom
- Terminals that are loose, corroded or show signs of arcing
- Intermittent faults, spurious lockouts or error codes traced to the low-voltage circuit
- Continuity faults or open circuits found when testing the harness with a meter
- Moisture ingress or rodent damage to the cable run

- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the existing harness part number where it is legible, as Ideal has used more than one loom across the Imax XEL range
- Isolate the electrical supply and allow the appliance to cool before removing the old harness
- Work inside a commercial gas appliance should be carried out by a suitably qualified engineer
