What it is
The Ideal 177974 is a washer supplied as a sealing component for Ideal commercial heating appliances. It is listed by the manufacturer under the alternative number 4035506 and sits within the gaskets, o-rings, seals and washers group of spares. Its role is to seat between mating faces and maintain a watertight joint, preventing weeping at the point where it is fitted.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or a visible drip at the joint where the washer is seated
- Staining, crusting or limescale build-up around the mating faces
- The washer has hardened, flattened, cracked or lost its shape on inspection
- A joint that will not seal after being re-made, indicating the washer is no longer serviceable
- Intermittent pressure loss traced to a joint rather than to the appliance itself
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the compatibility list, as the same part number can be used across several Evojet variants
- Check the part number on the existing component or in the appliance documentation before ordering
- Note the alternative number 4035506, which may appear on older paperwork or labels for the same item
- If the joint also uses a gasket or o-ring, check whether those items need replacing at the same time
