What it is
The Ideal 177962 is a ring used as a sealing component in Ideal Commercial Evojet appliances. It sits within the joint it is designed for and forms a seal that keeps the appliance's gas or water circuit sound at that point. The ring is listed under Ideal's gaskets, o-rings, seals and washers range and carries the alternative number 4034618.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Weeping or damp staining around the joint the ring seals
- A visible flat spot, split, crack or hardened, perished surface on the ring
- Water tracking down the appliance casing or onto the floor beneath the joint
- Repeated pressure loss on the appliance with no other obvious cause
- Whistling or a slight escape of gas or water at the joint when the appliance is running
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the compatibility list, as the same ring may not suit every Evojet variant
- Check the part number 177962 and the alternative number 4034618 against the parts diagram for your appliance
- Inspect the joint itself before ordering, as a damaged mating face will not be cured by a new ring alone
- The part is listed as a non-gas component; confirm the joint it seals on your appliance before fitting
