What it is

The Ideal 177930 is a mains wiring harness supplied for the ErP base combi range. It carries mains power and control connections between the boiler's main PCB and the surrounding electrical components, forming the fixed wiring link inside the appliance casing. This harness is specified for combi boilers built from the ACX prefix onwards.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to power up or the display stays blank when the mains supply is confirmed live.
  • Intermittent shutdowns or random fault codes that clear when the harness is moved or reseated.
  • Visible damage to the harness: chafed insulation, scorched or discoloured conductors, or a brittle, cracked sheath.
  • Loose, corroded or heat-damaged spade terminals and plug connectors at either end of the loom.
  • Continuity faults traced along the mains feed during electrical testing.

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the harness is specified for units from the ACX prefix onwards.
  • Check the existing harness part number and cross-reference it with 1777733 before ordering.
  • Inspect the connector housings and any associated seals or grommets at the same time, as these are separate items.
  • Electrical work inside the appliance should be carried out by a competent person, with the boiler isolated from the mains supply first.
