What it is
The Ideal 177737 is a mains voltage wiring harness used in Ideal gas boilers. It carries the 230 V supply from the appliance's mains inlet to the control PCB and associated components, so the boiler can power up, run its pump and fan, and respond to demand from the controls.
The harness is supplied as a complete assembly with its fitted plugs and terminals, making it a direct replacement for the original lead when the wiring has been damaged or has degraded in service. It is used across the Ideal Logic+ Heat range and on Ideal Commercial appliances.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler will not power up, or the display and controls stay dead with the supply switched on
- Power is lost intermittently, often when the appliance or its wiring is disturbed
- Insulation on the harness is brittle, cracked, discoloured or scorched
- Connectors at the PCB or mains inlet are loose, corroded or show arcing marks
- The supply fuse blows repeatedly or the circuit trips when the boiler is connected
