What it is
A small blanking plug supplied by Ideal for sealing off unused ports on the appliance's hydraulic and heat exchanger assemblies. It is listed under the manufacturer's caps and plugs range and is used across the Evo HE and Isar HE families, including commercial variants. The plug closes a threaded port so that water or flue-side pressure cannot escape once the port is no longer in service.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Dampness, staining or a visible weep around the blanking port
- Corrosion, scale or pitting on the plug body or its threads
- Thread damage after the plug has been removed and refitted
- Water tracking from the port onto nearby components or electrics
- System pressure that will not hold after the port has been disturbed
Before you order
- Check the appliance GC number or serial plate against the compatibility list to confirm the correct plug for your model
- Note the alternative number 1179981 when cross-referencing older documentation
- Confirm whether the port needs a sealing washer or jointing compound, as the plug is supplied on its own
