What it is

The Ideal 177008 is a printed circuit board kit (BCC kit) manufactured for Ideal Vogue Combi 32 appliances. The board is the control centre of the boiler: it runs the ignition sequence, monitors the flame sensing circuit, drives the fan and pump, reads the temperature sensors and communicates with the room thermostat and any connected controls. A failed board typically stops the appliance responding to demand altogether, or leaves it locking out at random.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler shows no display or the display stays blank when power is applied.
  • The appliance will not fire on a call for heat or hot water, with no fan or pump activity.
  • Repeated lockouts or fault codes that clear on reset and return shortly afterwards.
  • Controls, thermostat or timer inputs are ignored by the boiler.
  • Erratic behaviour such as the pump running continuously or the fan starting without a demand.

Before you order

  • Confirm the GC number on the appliance data badge matches 47-348-98 before ordering.
  • Check the existing board against part number 177008 and alternative number 1782374 to make sure the correct variant is supplied.
  • Inspect the wiring harness, plugs and earth connections while the board is removed, as damaged connectors can mimic board failure.
  • Work on the appliance should be carried out by a competent person, with the electrical supply isolated before any board is removed.
