What it is
The Ideal 176879 is a complete hydroblock rated at 40kW, built for the Ideal Vogue C40 condensing boiler. It brings the diverter valve and the hydraulic waterways together in a single assembly, directing water between the domestic hot water circuit and the central heating circuit as demand changes. The component sits within Ideal's diverter valves and hydraulics group and is supplied as a complete unit rather than as separate internal parts.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water runs cold or is lost altogether while the central heating continues to work
- Domestic hot water temperature swings or cycles instead of holding steady
- The diverter valve no longer switches cleanly between heating and hot water modes
- Water weeps from the hydroblock body or from its pipe connections
- The boiler locks out or reports a fault tied to the hydraulic circuit
Before you order
- Check the boiler GC number and model against the compatibility list; the Vogue C40 carries GC 47-348-97.
- Confirm the number on the existing component matches 176879 or the alternative number 1782725.
- Inspect the seals and O-rings exposed during removal and renew any that are perished before refitting.
