What it is
This is an Ideal isolation valve assembly supplied as part of the domestic hot water pack for the Vogue Combi range. It sits on the DHW circuit and lets an engineer isolate the hot water side of the appliance without draining the whole system. The valve is a serviceable component, so it is replaced when the spindle or body starts to weep or the handle no longer shuts the flow off cleanly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the valve body, spindle or compression nut
- The quarter-turn handle turns but the flow does not stop
- Handle seized, stiff or rounded off so it cannot be operated
- Scale or corrosion build-up around the valve outlet
- Damp staining or residue on the pipework beneath the valve
