What it is
The Ideal Return Ball Valve 176727 is an isolation valve fitted to the return side of the appliance's water circuit. It is manufactured by Ideal and supplied as a spare for Ideal Commercial and Ideal Solar Thermal equipment. Its job is to let an engineer shut off flow through the return pipe so that work can be carried out on the appliance or the surrounding system without draining the whole installation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the valve spindle or the body when the valve is operated
- The handle turns but the valve no longer shuts off flow through the return pipe
- The valve is stiff, seized or will not move through its full quarter turn
