What it is
The Ideal 176723 is an air separator used in Ideal heating appliances. It sits in the water circuit and draws entrained air and microbubbles out of the system water so they can be vented away rather than circulating through the boiler or solar thermal loop. It is listed against Ideal Commercial parts and Ideal Solar Thermal equipment.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gurgling, trickling or rushing noises from the pipework or boiler during operation
- Repeated need to bleed radiators or vents, with air returning quickly after bleeding
- Cold spots or uneven heat across the system despite the pump running normally
- Pump noise or cavitation, with the pump running hot or cutting out
- Overheating or lockout faults linked to poor circulation and trapped air
