What it is
The Ideal return thermistor sensor, part number 176482, is a temperature-sensing component fitted to Ideal Esprit, Isar, Esprit 2 and Evo boilers. It works by reducing its circuit resistance as temperature rises, giving the boiler control board a continuous reading of return water temperature. The board uses that resistance value to decide whether the appliance needs to increase or decrease heat output.
