The Ideal internal condensate hose is the flexible pipe that carries acidic condensate water from the boiler's condensing heat exchanger or condensate trap down to the external drainage point. It is manufactured by Ideal for use inside their own appliances, so the bore, wall thickness and end fittings match the trap and sump connections on the boiler it was designed for. The hose sits within the casing and is exposed to warm, mildly acidic condensate throughout the heating season, which is why it eventually hardens, splits or blocks.

• Water pooling inside the boiler casing or dripping from the bottom of the appliance
• Visible cracking, hardening or perishing on the hose wall, particularly at the bend or at the trap spigot
• Condensate backing up in the trap, causing gurgling, intermittent lockout or a boiler that will not fire
• White, chalky scale deposits or a sludgy residue inside the bore restricting flow
• A damp or stained patch on the wall or floor beneath the boiler where condensate has escaped
