What it is

The Ideal Hydroblock Gasket Kit (176453) contains the sealing components used on the hydroblock assembly of a range of Ideal combi and system boilers. The hydroblock routes domestic hot water and heating water through the appliance, and its gaskets seal the joints between the block, the pipework and the components bolted to it. Heat, pressure cycling and age cause these seals to harden, flatten or perish, which allows small leaks to develop at the joints.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or staining around the hydroblock joints
  • Gradual loss of system pressure, needing frequent top-ups
  • Existing seals visibly hardened, flattened or cracked
  • Scale or corrosion deposits sitting on the seal faces
  • Dripping from the hydroblock area after the appliance has been running
