What it is
The Ideal 176344 is an inspection cover kit that forms part of the casing assembly on Ideal Commercial boilers. It provides the removable panel over the appliance's inspection opening, closing the aperture during normal running while allowing an engineer to gain access for service and combustion checks. The kit is listed for 100kW and 150kW output models in the Evomax and Instinct Heat ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The cover is cracked, warped or visibly distorted
- Fixings or fasteners are corroded, seized or missing so the panel will not seat correctly
- The cover no longer sits flush against the casing, leaving a gap around the inspection aperture
- Discolouration or heat marking around the cover or its mounting points
- The cover has been removed during servicing and not refitted
