What it is
The Ideal fan assembly 176274 is the forced-draught fan used on Ideal Commercial gas boilers. It draws fresh air into the combustion chamber so the gas can burn correctly, then carries the burnt gases away once combustion is complete. The boiler's safety interlock prevents gas reaching the main burner whenever the fan is not running.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or fails to fire, with a fan-related fault code shown on the display
- The fan runs noisily, grinds or rumbles, or the impellor catches on the housing
- The fan does not spin up at the start of a demand, so the boiler never reaches ignition
