Ideal Heat Exchanger Assembly Kit 60 176221

The Heat Exchanger Assembly Kit 60 is a replacement heat exchanger assembly manufactured by Ideal for its commercial gas appliance range. It sits in the combustion path and transfers heat from the burner gases into the appliance water circuit, so it is central to both heating output and domestic hot water production on the models it serves. The assembly is supplied under Ideal part number 176221 and is listed for the Evomax and Instinct Heat commercial families.

• Repeated overheat lockouts or high limit trips during normal operation
• Reduced heating or hot water output with the burner running and no obvious fault elsewhere
• Kettling, banging or gurgling noises from the heat exchanger body
• Water weeping, staining or scale deposits around the exchanger casing or connections
• Combustion readings that drift outside the expected range after servicing

• Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the Evomax and Instinct Heat variants use different GC references.
• Check the existing part number on the appliance against 176221 and the alternative number 1782246 before ordering.
• Inspect the seals and gaskets on the exchanger connections and replace them if they are compressed, hardened or damaged.
• This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
