What it is
The Ideal 175668 is a diverter valve cartridge, sometimes called a three-way or changeover valve. It is the part inside a combi boiler's diverter valve that directs hot water either to the radiators or to the domestic hot water side, depending on demand.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Heating stays on, or radiators go hot, when only hot water is being drawn
- Poor or no hot water at taps even though the boiler fires
- Hot water dribbles from an unused outlet
- Boiler is slow to switch between heating and hot water modes
