What it is
The Ideal 175642 is a complete hydroblock kit supplied with a brass waterset, built for the Ideal Logic Combi and Independent combi boiler families. The hydroblock is the hydraulic centre of the appliance: it carries the diverter valve, DHW and heating circuit connections, and the pressure-sensing points that let the boiler switch between hot water and central heating. This version is the pre-prefix ABK pattern, which matters when matching an existing installation.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Domestic hot water runs cold or only lukewarm while the heating circuit works normally.
- Radiators stay cold when there is a demand for heating, or the boiler will not switch between DHW and CH.
- Water weeping or staining around the hydroblock body, brass waterset or its connections.
- Pressure loss on the system gauge with no visible leak elsewhere on the pipework.
- Fault codes or lockouts linked to the diverter valve or hydraulic section.
