The Ideal 175415 is an expansion vessel kit for Ideal domestic boilers. The vessel contains a sealed diaphragm that absorbs the increase in water volume as the heating circuit warms, holding system pressure within its working range as the boiler runs. It is listed for the Esprit 2 and Evo HE appliance families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- System pressure climbs sharply as the boiler heats up and drops again once it cools
- The filling loop is used repeatedly to bring pressure back up to the cold set point
- Water discharges from the pressure relief valve during normal running
- Water appears at the air charge valve on the vessel, indicating a split diaphragm
- The pressure gauge reads high on a cold system with no obvious cause elsewhere in the circuit
