What it is
The Ideal 175411 is a diverter valve cartridge kit, finished in grey and brass, for Ideal Esprit 2 and Isar HE combi boilers built from the XF prefix onward. The diverter valve is a directional device found only in combi boilers, and this cartridge is the part inside it that switches the flow between the central heating circuit and the domestic hot water side.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Heating stays on, or radiators go hot, when only hot water is being drawn
- Hot or lukewarm water dribbles from an outlet that isn't in use
- Poor or no hot water at taps even though the boiler fires
- Boiler is slow to switch between heating and hot water modes
