What it is

The 175231 control module is the printed circuit board that governs the operating sequence of Ideal Commercial Imax W100 appliances. It handles the electronic signalling between the boiler's sensors, thermostat demand and burner controls, so the unit fires, modulates and shuts down as intended. The board is supplied by Ideal for the Imax W100 range and is also listed under the Keston brand.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance fails to respond to a call for heat, with no ignition sequence starting
  • The boiler locks out repeatedly and requires a manual reset each time
  • Erratic or intermittent operation that does not match the thermostat demand
  • Visible damage on the board, such as scorching, burnt tracks or swollen capacitors
  • Fault codes relating to the control or sequence board appearing on the appliance display

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the Imax W100 and W100P propane variants use different configurations
  • Check the existing board for the printed part number before ordering, and note the alternative number 1780871 in case the fitted board carries that reference
  • Inspect the board connectors and wiring loom for heat damage or corrosion, as these can mimic a failed module
