What it is

The Ideal 175127 is a temperature gauge supplied by Ideal for use on its commercial boiler range. It sits in the boiler's water circuit and provides a visible readout of the temperature at that point, so an engineer can confirm what the appliance is actually doing during a service call or a fault diagnosis. It is a direct replacement item for the gauge originally fitted to these appliances.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The gauge needle sits at zero or below the expected reading while the appliance is clearly running hot.
  • The needle sticks, jumps or moves erratically instead of rising smoothly with the water temperature.
  • The dial face is clouded, cracked or has lost its markings, making the reading unreliable.
  • Moisture or condensation has collected behind the lens.
  • The reading no longer matches a verified temperature taken elsewhere on the system.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and, where available, the GC number against the compatibility list before ordering.
  • Check the old gauge against the previous number 9536-5161 to be sure the correct item is being replaced.
  • Inspect the sealing washer or O-ring at the gauge connection and renew it if it is compressed or perished.
  • Work on the boiler water circuit should only be carried out by a competent person, with the appliance isolated and drained as required.
