Ideal Mains Harness Imax Xtra F160-280 174428

The mains harness is the wiring loom that carries the 230 V supply from the boiler's incoming terminal block through to the control board and the components that need mains power. It is manufactured by Ideal for the Imax Xtra range of commercial boilers and is supplied as a complete loom with the connector plugs already fitted.

Because the harness handles mains voltage, its insulation, terminal crimps and plug housings all have to survive years of heat cycling inside the appliance casing. A damaged loom is a safety-critical fault, not a nuisance one.

• The boiler will not power up, or power drops in and out when the casing or loom is disturbed
• Visible scorching, discoloured or brittle insulation on any of the conductors
• Loose, corroded or heat-damaged crimps in the plug housings, or a plug that no longer latches
• Repeated mains-related fault codes that clear when the harness is wiggled
• Rodent or impact damage to the loom inside the appliance

• Confirm the boiler model and serial number against the compatibility list, as the Imax Xtra range uses more than one loom variant
• Note the alternative number 1780574 when cross-referencing an older parts list or a harness already fitted to the appliance
• Isolate the mains supply and prove dead before removing or refitting the harness
• Check the condition of the terminal block and control board connectors while the loom is out, as heat damage often affects both sides of the connection
