The Ideal 174383 is a venturi kit for Ideal Commercial appliances. The venturi sits in the air and gas path ahead of the burner, where its tapered bore creates a pressure differential that draws gas into the combustion air stream and holds the mixture at the ratio the appliance was set up for. Because that metering directly affects combustion, a worn, blocked or damaged venturi shows up as unstable flame, poor combustion readings or repeated lockouts rather than as an obvious leak.
