What it is

The casing side panel is the outer sheet-metal enclosure that closes off the side of the appliance, protecting the internal components from dust, impact and accidental contact while keeping the boiler's casing lines intact. This panel is supplied by Ideal for the Ideal Commercial Imax Xtra range of commercial boilers. It forms part of the outer casing assembly and is matched to the chassis dimensions of the Imax Xtra 80-160 and 320 models.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible dents, creases or distortion in the side panel after an impact or during handling
  • Corrosion or rust staining along the panel edges or fixing points
  • The panel no longer sits flush against the chassis, leaving internal components exposed
  • Fixing screws will not hold because the mounting holes or panel edges have torn
  • Rattle or vibration from a loose or poorly seated side panel during operation

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list, as casing panels differ across the Imax Xtra range
  • Check the existing panel against alternative number 1780620 to confirm you are ordering the correct item
  • Inspect the panel fixings and any seals or gaskets around the casing at the same time, as these are often disturbed when a panel is removed
