What it is
The Ideal 174067 is a genuine fan assembly (Torin Sifan unit) for Ideal Classic HE15 and Optia HE15 boilers. It draws air through the burner for combustion and expels the flue gases, and the boiler's control board monitors its speed before allowing ignition.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler fails to fire and shows a fan-related fault code
- Fan is noisy, grinding or rattling when running
- Fan doesn't spin up, or spins but very slowly
- Boiler locks out intermittently during the pre-purge stage

- Check the GC number on your boiler's data badge matches Classic HE15 or Optia HE15
- Confirm the part number on your existing fan reads 174067, not the similar 174068 used on the HE18 versions
- Isolate electrical power before replacing; fitting is a job for a Gas Safe registered engineer
