Ideal Smoke Retarder Kit Van L 870 173649

The Ideal 173649 is a smoke retarder kit manufactured for Ideal Commercial appliances. A smoke retarder sits in the flue gas path and slows the passage of flue gases, holding back smoke and particulates rather than letting them discharge freely. It is a serviceable item, replaced when the original element becomes contaminated, distorted or blocked.

• Visible smoke or haze at the flue terminal during normal running
• Soot or dark deposits around the flue outlet or on the retarder element itself
• Combustion readings drifting outside the range expected for the appliance
• Physical damage, distortion or corrosion of the retarder element
• Flue gas odour or carry-over noticed during routine servicing

• Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering.
• Check the number on the existing component; 1179582 is also listed against this item.
• Inspect the flue and any associated seals or gaskets at the same time, as these are often disturbed during replacement.
