Ideal Smoke Retarder Kit Van L 240 173642

The Ideal smoke retarder kit, part 173642, is a replacement assembly for Ideal Commercial appliances. It is listed under the Van L 240 reference and carries the alternative part number 1179575. The retarder works in the exhaust path of the appliance, slowing the movement of smoke and flue gases as they leave the combustion chamber.

• Smoke or visible haze at the flue outlet during normal running
• Soot deposits or discolouration around the flue and combustion area
• Combustion readings drifting outside the expected range for the appliance
• Physical distortion, corrosion or cracking of the retarder assembly
• Rattling or movement of the retarder within its mounting

• Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list.
• Cross-reference the alternative number 1179575 if the existing part carries that marking.
• Check whether any gasket or seal from the original assembly needs renewing at the same time.
