What it is
The Ideal 173525 is a fan kit supplied with rubber mounting bushes, used as the replacement combustion fan assembly on Ideal Isar HE35 boilers. The fan draws flue gases through the heat exchanger and pushes them out through the flue, and it also feeds air into the combustion chamber for the burner. The rubber mounts isolate the fan body from the casing, cutting down vibration and the noise that travels through the boiler shell.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out or fails to fire, with a fan or air pressure related fault code showing
- Grinding, rumbling or scraping noise from the fan area when the boiler starts
- Fan runs intermittently, slows down, or does not spin at all on a call for heat
- Repeated lockouts that clear after a reset and return shortly afterwards
- Visible damage, cracking or perishing of the rubber mounting bushes, or the fan body sitting loose in the casing
