What it is
The Ideal 173394 is an eight-section boiler body insulation panel set manufactured for Ideal Commercial appliances. It wraps the boiler body to limit heat loss from the casing, keeping the shell temperature down and helping the appliance hold its operating efficiency. It is the insulation specified for the Harrier GTE and GTE5 commercial range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Insulation panels that are cracked, crumbling or breaking away from the boiler body
- Visible heat damage, scorching or discolouration on the insulation surface
- Casing or surrounding pipework running noticeably hotter than usual
- Condensation or damp patches forming on the boiler shell where insulation has failed
- Insulation that has come loose and no longer sits flush against the body sections
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list before ordering, as Harrier GTE and GTE5 variants use different assemblies
- Check the existing insulation for the previous number 85535511 to confirm the correct replacement
- Inspect any seals, gaskets or fixings disturbed during removal and replace them if they are perished or damaged
