What it is

The Ideal 173375 is a complete tie rod intended for five-section Ideal commercial boilers. Tie rods pass through the boiler sections and hold them together under compression, keeping the section joints closed and sealed under operating pressure. This is the full rod assembly as supplied for the five-section build.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Weeping, staining or crusting at the section joints
  • Visible corrosion, pitting or thinning along the length of the rod
  • Rod stretched, or threads damaged so it will not hold torque
  • Section joint seals leaking again after re-tightening
  • Rod seized or snapped during strip-down of the section assembly
