What it is

The Ideal 173203 is a pressure relief valve for the central heating circuit of Ideal gas boilers and cylinders. It is manufactured by Ideal and belongs to the Excel HE and iStore HE appliance families. The valve opens and discharges water when sealed system pressure rises above its set limit, protecting the boiler, cylinder and connected pipework from over-pressurisation.
