What it is
The Ideal 173151 is a gas control valve fitted to Ideal Istor HE260 and HE325 appliances. It sits in the gas train and regulates the flow of gas to the burner, opening and closing on demand from the appliance controls and adjusting flow to match the heat output being called for. The valve is a serviceable component, so it can be replaced when the original no longer holds a steady flame or responds correctly to the control board.
