What it is
The Ideal 172930 is an anode cover and seal assembly used on Ideal Commercial boiler ranges. It forms the closure over the anode connection point, holding the anode in position and sealing the opening against water loss and air ingress. The seal sits between the cover and the appliance body to keep the joint watertight.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or tracking from around the anode cover joint
- Visible corrosion or pitting on the cover face
- Scale or mineral deposits around the seal seating area
- Seal flattened, hardened or split when the cover is removed
- Anode inspection reveals the cover has been disturbed and the seal will not reseat
