What it is
The Ideal 172898 is the rear panel used in the casing assembly of Ideal Commercial Buccaneer appliances. It forms the back face of the outer casing, closing off the rear of the unit and shielding the internal components from dust, knocks and general site debris. As a casing component it is a structural and protective part rather than a gas-carrying one, and it is supplied to suit the Buccaneer range as built by Ideal.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Rust or corrosion breaking through the panel surface, often along the lower edge or around fixings
- Distortion or warping so the panel no longer sits square against the casing frame
- Elongated, torn or missing fixing holes that stop the panel pulling up tight
- Impact damage or dents picked up during servicing or handling
- The panel fouling adjacent casing sections or failing to seat when refitted
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the compatibility list before ordering
- Check the part number on the existing panel, or match it to 1179143 / 85758810
- Inspect the fixings and any seals around the panel and replace perished items at the same time
